In an order to be eligible for the examination, the candidate needs to attain an age of 21, but should not extend the age of 30.
The candidate needs to possess an engineering degree from a recognized university that is incorporated by the Act of the Central or State legislature in India.
The duration for the category 1 exam is 5 hours in total where 2 hrs is given for paper 1 and 3 hrs for paper 2.
