NDA or National Defense Agency exams are conducted by the UPSC for admitting candidates into the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings. The examination takes place in two phases where 1st exam is written and the second part is an interview by the SSB (Service Selection Board).
Candidates passing both exams can register for training under National Defense Academy.
Candidates do not get the position of commissioned officers until they complete the 3 years of training.
